Firstly, I never do it solo.... I always vq with a friend.

Secondly, when I first started vqing it was for the title but I found that I enjoyed it and it gave some decent drops and a bit of money.

As I only play on weekends vq'ing is one of the things we do for a bit of fun and I guess eventually I'll have the leg vq on a few more chars.

Anyone who is paying too much attention to titles is very likely to be average at best ingame imo. Titles dont mean much, take a look at HA :x. At least before, I (with my puny r3) was constantly surprised by the weird useless crap high ranked players do ( r10-r11, at the time r12 or maybe 13 was highest I think :x). Why does any title have to be different

Titles, I guess - it goes well with Cartographer, and recently I've taken to being very touristy. VQing has become a case of spell, shield, and screenshot.

Titles is not an answer. I question what the motivation for titles is.

Killing 150+ monsters that have at least 50% more numbers than you gives a gigantic boost to my E-peen. I feel like I could bitchslap the whole margonite horde.
Vanquishing with other people is really awesome, double as awesome as the experience above. This time I feel like I could bitchslap the margonite hordes, take a dump in front of Mallyx and ask for toilet paper.

I don't have motivation hence only 2 maxed titles after +2 years (recently maxed LB).

Maybe when I find out what HoM will be good for, I'll have a reason but nothing now.

Motivation isn't a very good attribute line. It has a couple of strong skills, but the majority of them are lackluster and just not worth the slot or the character.

Lol, best answer

But yeah, titles for the sake of the title would be the motivation. Got my rainbow phoenix, so not really motivated to max titles anymore. But if I was gonna, it'd be just to have the title. And yes, the relief that you'd never have to go through it again. Don't know whether to be impressed or to pity those mad few who go around maxing titles on more than just their main...

e-penis

That's really all it is.

And by it I mean Guild Wars.

And by Guild Wars I mean every online game, ever.

I finished all of my HOM that was required but the only thing I did not finish was maxing out my titles which I have only 7 maxed. Perhaps I can grind out a few more for 10 but right now there is no motivation to do so.

Fun, money, and rep titles - I got a Legendary Spearmarshal by vanquishing Istan and Kourna. Getting closer to the vanquisher title itself is an added bonus that I won't be too fussed if I don't complete... but hey, every zone I vanquish is one zone closer to that title.

What actually triggers me to go ahead and do it, though, are double vanq reward weekends or double reputation reward weekends in the appropriate region. I'll sometimes do it just for the heck of it without a double weekend, but I still have plenty of other things to be doing.

The titles, the money and the faction points (but only really for the luxon areas!). Ive just reached Canthan Vanquisher on my ranger, only 2 to go till Tyrian Vanquisher aswell, then Ive a fair number till Elonian.

Well at first I wanted the shiny phoenix on my ranger, I figured if I went vanquishing in Elona I'd get like 3-5 titles at once, didn't quite work out tha tway. I got sunspear, cartographer, skill hunter, canthan cartographer(it's a small continent) and the protecter titles(i generally got masters first run through) and that was it for titles on that one. I never finished squishing elona, I got like 2-3 zones left, the dasha vestibule, and some balthazar blasted wate in the desolation. I couldn't deal with the Djin spiking my heroes down and lacked the consets to muscle through joko's domain, the hereoes get too much DP in wurms and get chewed up by undead out of the wurm. I had my birdie and enough loot for FoW so I just called it quits.

Then I started on my warrior, at first it was just the luxon zones, then during an AB weekend the luxons pushed the kurz waaaay deep so I went through those zones(this was before they upped the faction cap and upped the vanq reward... like right before it...) eat the hel out of southern cantha. Then I noticed that there wasn't much left of cantha to squish so I went htrough the city areas with sabway and pretty much steamrolled them(I hada buddy going through factions the first time with the emporer quest in tanaki to, so that was good).

Then I realized, in the 4 man areas outside shing jea, I got stupid rich, 100ish gold split 4 ways is a lot better then 100 split 8 ways so I started knocking out the ascalonian and northern shiver peak areas, and the krytan and maguuma jungle areas, a couple times went on a ToA caravan in the black curtain and nearby areas. Before I knew it I was 1/2 way to the tyrian title. I was also seeing sights I had never seen in the game, I thing cartographers must stare at the compass and map, but sometime, pull the camera out or go into first person view and pan it around, A-Net made some cool lookin stuff out there.

I've got like 5 zones left in tyria. all south shiverpeaks. about half the EotN zones and a lot of elona on my warrior. I tell you what the Snake dance>Dreadnought's>Lornar's caravan was freaking epic.

To quell boredom I pop in a DVD(my TV is near my PC and I can see it easily from here) and watch like a Firefly marathon or put on some music, metallica or something with like 5-8 minute long tracks and just go rampaging. If I get bored I try and roll with odd or new builds, like an enraged smash warrior or try and get the assassin's a good build(like my A/Ps with Inspirational speech and an easy quick recharging combo, they rock with it).

My motivation has shrunk to a very low value since I completed my Legendary Guardian title.
